Tomorrow is a new Day
"With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts."
Eleanor Roosevelt
Wise lady, no matter how bad a day gets, tomorrow brings the promise of a renewed life. It doesn't matter what goes on in your life today but you can try to change tomorrow with what has made you the person you are. Today will soon be gone and tomorrow you can't change no matter much you would like to.
For those that suffer from abuse can't see beyond the grief that has been thrown upon them, it lies on them like a thick heavy blanket not allow them to move on. The pain and shame that comes from abuse, rather it is mental, sexual or physical. It leaves behind pieces of shattered lives that aren't easily put back together. Trust is broken with essentially most people. It leads to self-destructive behavior such as self-inflicted pain, drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, anxiety, panic disorder and suicide attempts.
One in three women are affected and one in six men. That is staggering. That means more than likely that you know someone in your life that has been abused. You may not see it because they do all they can to hide it because they are afraid of the ridicule and what is or isn't said so they do what they can to protect themselves.
There are types of personalities that you may find among those that have been abused. Ones that you wouldn't think about. Ones that are extremely into their work, working over many times being considered the workaholic. Their motivated, reliable and obedient but their motive in all of is wrong. It can also be seen in a controlling person because they don't want to feel as if things are out of their control. They like to control their environment and the people around them.
You also see this, someone who is reckless in their behavior. They may do things just because their self-worth is lacking. They may think or have heard others make comments then thinking if they say I'm doing this why not make it true. Everything is turned into a joke even if it's meant to be serious. They have lost their identity and this is the easy one.
Then their those that refuse to let anyone in. Determine to show everyone that they don't need anyone, that they don't have to depend on anyone or anything to help them do anything. The can come across cold, manipulative and controlling. The idea is if you get close I'm going to hurt you before you can hurt me.
There is help. There are those that will listen. You aren't alone. God doesn't want you live in chains any longer. There is a loving God that wants to help you. You are the victim of sin he cleanses them and removes the shame and rebuilds lives.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
If you need to hide, if you need strength make God the one you hide in ask him for his strength.
Good Day and God Bless
