Getting to know me

A few months ago most people unless they were family or friends had no idea who I was. Well for those of you who just started following me on blogger, Twitter, Facebook or my site at WordPress. you are about to hear a little about me.
I am a Critical Care Nurse in a small rural hospital in Southern Ohio. I started in nursing around 30 years ago. That is a long time when you start as a teen still in high school. It is part of who I am, I have been a care giver since I was 16. Believe I have seen some strange and unusual things. Things that most people would never think of.
While was going to school for nursing I also took extra time in my English class as a junior in high school to write short stories and poetry. There were few people that saw them or had opportunity to read them. I think I had one boyfriend that read most of them and a high school English teacher that would take them home with her on weekends and read them and return them to me. I at one time wanted to go into journalism, but in the area where I live there is few opportunities for it. I am an only child and I really didn't want to leave the area in which I was raised.
I met and married my husband and 9 months later we had our only child. From then on my priority was mommy and wife. It wasn't until my son was leaving for school and was planning to get married that I started writing. I took my lap top on vacation with me to the mountains of Tennessee and researched a little and looked at a few videos on the subject and I started to write Standing in the Eye of the Storm. Before I returned home I had written almost three chapters. It wasn't perfect but I had started it. I started the book July 8 of 2012 and on July 3rd 2013 it was released. I have my first book signing on Oct 10 and look forward to it.
I didn't read much until my husband bought me a Kindle for my birthday, honestly it was because I couldn't see the printed material. I have had difficulties with vision since I was born. The Kindle allowed me to increase the gain and it opened up a new world of me.
Now as a published author I have passed the half way mark writing my sequel Stilling the Thunder and hoping to have it released soon. I would love feed back on my books. My first is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Xlibris. Thanks for your interest and support.
Thank You and God Bless
Teresa
