Having Gifts Differing

Image
I sit here writing this post not knowing what is going to come from my fingertips. I also haven't come up with a title, but for some reason, I am being compelled to write this post. By the time I finish this, I hope to have one. I guess you could say it's the writer in me that longs to sit down and do nothing but to write. I have often wondered what it would be like to sit down and do nothing but write something, anything, that people would want to read. That other would be panting at the thought to be able to read something I have written and left them wanting more. In essence, that is what any writer wants.       I have as of late, sat down and opened my Kindle to read the many books I have loaded and started to read the fabulous works of fiction. There are many authors I follow, and I am not ashamed that some of the stories I know are living something different than I. That's the point right? The idea is to take the reader on a journey so that they get caught...

True Love Waits

Image
I guess you could say I was raised old fashion. I suppose you would say that I was sheltered . When I was a teen, sex was still considered taboo, and you didn't discuss it with your mother or friends. Then again some girls were still considered fast when I grew up in the 80's. See I told you I was sheltered .      Put it this way. It wasn't necessarily biblical, but more of a self-respect and upholding the family name that kept you from doing things that could ruin your life not to mention could end it. It was the beginning of the Aids epidemic, and people were not as quick to jump into bed with someone. When it came to morals, I had them. I was scared into some of them, but I had them, not to mention I do grow up in a nondenominational church. It isn't that those things didn't happen. They did. I remember several of the girls I graduated with being pregnant with their first child and some with their second. Now I don't say...

Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Goodnight

Wherever you are today, or whatever you are doing I hope you are having a grand day. So far to day we (My parents and husband) attended the birthday party of a dear friend and family member. I know my father enjoyed getting to spend time with his friend and my husband's uncle. You could certainly see the impact he has had on others lives. It has been a good afternoon. The intent, if I am not so tired I can't, is to attend the first local high school football game of the year. My alma mater is playing their long time rival, and it is always a the first game of the season for the high school. In my years at the high school, we had student pep rallies and bonfires before a game. I'm sure they no longer do the bonfires. I enjoyed them so much. We had a local school paper called the Skeleton in which the wrote stories about the team and other details of the events. A group of cheerleaders made stickers and pins the students could buy to support the team for the up coming ...

Living the Dream

If there is one thing that my parents taught me is never to give up as it serves no purpose. For six years now, I have been writing as an independent author. For me and others, writing isn't considered as a hobby; it 's a lifelong dream to write, to be an author and to make it a career. I have been working since I was a teen starting out as a baby sitter and then became a caregiver. I was still in high school when I started taking care of the elderly in a local nursing home. From the time I was a little girl, I was a nurse, taking care of my dolls. I went to school my junior and senior year to a vocational school and received a certificate for a nursing assistant. When I graduated from high school, I applied to Vocational School to start LPN school. I had no such luck to get in the first round. After 12 years of school, I was kept out because of math and reading comprehension. I ended up going to adult education at night to be able to pass the entrance exam. Wh...

News Letter

Next to Come is a newly formed Newsletter. I intend to write one each month to keep you updated and when new books may be out. Since I work full time and have a limited amount of time to work on my books, that is until I have the opportunity to write full time. Please feel free to visit my other pages also for updates and tidbits. There will be notes on my upcoming books and a look into my own family. I have been camera shy for some time. I no longer look as I do in my younger years and I don't feel photogenic. I promise to correct that. You don't want to miss these newsletters; I think you will find them interesting. Of course, the first one will be a little long and is welcome . Please stay tuned. Want to see what is available? UP DATE

Image
Hello, everyone. It's good to be up and going today. Hope all is well with you. Just wanted to give you a quick update on my coming release. I should be getting it back today from the editor and will more than likely have it up on e-book this week and the paperback sometime within the next week or so for those of you who like to have a book in hand. As for the story behind On Desert Sands, I have written several about other career paths, but I chose to write this one about a military officer and his not so jump in with both feet companion. Neither of them has had a smooth ride. Sara Crowder met and married young the love of her life. She wasn't counting on being a war widow at such an early age. Out of convenience she met and married a police officer that she found turned out to be cruel and above the law. After two failed marriages it was time to cash it in. On a whim, she is set up by her friends on a blind date. We know most blind dates do not go well and hers...

New and Free Reads

Image
Coming soon On Desert Sands is close to being released, and The Life Storms Series has books 3 and four released in e-book version at this time. Eye of the Storm is being made Perma Free on other sites and is in progress with the paperback version of that title. Amazon will show as the original price, but you should be able to find it on other sites. I am debating at this time of making On Desert Sands as a Perma Free as it is the first in a series. The link will to it be provided at a later date. Happy Reading.
