Unusual for a Authors Post

Today would have marked my youngest child's 16th birthday; it would have also had my father-In-laws birthday. To show that I am human and not all business I am honoring them today. Today would have been their day of celebration here on earth, instead they at celebrating in heaven. I can only imagine. I'm not sure what sex my child is as they were miscarried and way too early to know. For years I have given him the name Matthew Robert as it is the only name I had picked out at the time. Sara Elizabeth was yet another, but Matthew was the first on my list. My father-in-law would have been thrilled as he loved the grandchildren.      My father-in-law passed away somewhere around 24 years ago as my son was close to 2 years old when he left this earth, and he will soon be 27 years old. He battled a cancerous brain tumor for two years before it took him. Although he didn't appear to know us the last few months of his life, he was with us. He had big plans fo...

The Romantic Heroes of Fiction Writing

Ah, yes, the romantic hero. Has anyone you know started reading a book or watching a movie only to get caught up in the romantic lead? I have and if you're truthful, you have. Romantic leads are just for that. They take you from reality and give you and alternate world. If you are a good writer or someone who can write a convincing screen play you can do that for people.      Romantic heroes are normally real but they have a way about them that makes them lovable but they more than likely have something that has left them damaged. Something that has made them perfectly imperfect. Just when you think you have them figured out they change on you and find another layer to their soul. It has always been my idea that when I write, I want to make the characters so life-like that it leaves you standing in the room with them, sort of eavesdropping on their life and conversations. You are around them when no one else is.      I h...

Time Spent, Life Storms Series

Image
Over the last five years or so, I have spent my spare time, what little there is, I have written five books. Each one is a work of love and spent in hard labor. Not many people realize what it is to sit down and write a book, novel, manuscript, what ever you want to call it. It is much more than writing words down on a page. I found after writing the first book, which is Eye of the Storm, meant baring my soul. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, especially when it came to the intimate scenes. I found myself after many attempts, closing my eyes and looking into the room in which the character were. Planting myself in a corner and playing out the scene. I put my fingers on the keyboard and started to write. I had torn the scene out multiple times and thought I would never get it written as I wanted it. Not all love scenes are jump into the bedroom and let it happen. This one was particularly difficult as the characters were both extremely damaged emotional...

Fire Chaser Excerpt

Hi All, Thought you would enjoy a little teaser from Fire Chaser that isn't in the look and see on Amazon: Enjoy. Just a Taste from Fire Chaser : Her nerves were shot. Her hands shook so much she could barely hold the brush in her hand. She had taken great pains to get home early from running errands so she would have plenty of time to get ready for this event. Jack was counting on her, and she couldn’t let him down. Having finally gotten her hair to a level she could manage, she swept it up into a high, curled ponytail with sparkling rhinestones hiding the accessories that held it in place. Feeling stressed, she was thankful Jack was coming for her so she wouldn’t be driving, otherwise she thought she may end up in the bay. As she placed the last rhinestone in her hair there was a knock at the door of her hotel room. “Oh no, it can’t be time for Jack. It’s too early, I’m not even dressed.” She hadn’t realized she was muttering anything out loud until she opened the do...
