It's a trip to be an Author

When I started writing it was when I was in high school. It had never occurred to me to be published. At this time, I am an indie author and I might stay that way. Breaking into the writing business is not easy. It takes time, effort, patience, money and did I say patience? It is one of the best things I have done and one of the hardest. I am still learning and I don't know if I will ever be the success of those that I read. My favorite authors are also my teachers, H.M. Ward (Holly), Lori Foster, Sylvia Day, Julie Garwood and Sylvain Reynard. They have written some of the best romance that aren't run of the mill romance books I think I have ever read. I have also read a couple of books from E.L. James and Helen Hardt. They deal with real people. When I say that I mean, they all have hardships, they are damaged and their doesn't appear to be fantasy, something that can't ever happen. It doesn't matter if they are rich, middle class, or poor. It doesn't matter the career, Doctor, lawyer, rancher, officer, or a tycoon. They all have a simple and clear message.
I have taken experiences from my own life and added flavor to them. That doesn't mean they are about anyone person. It means that the things I have experienced, read about, seen or has happened to those around me or something that has been in my own life. That is what make a author. Taking something simple, a flicker of something that can be made into a story.
I can only hope to write as well as they do and to have half the success they have had.
One thing I learned once I started writing is that a book can take you anywhere you like. You can be who ever you want to be and it is the same being an author.
